While immersing yourself in the enchanting beauty of the Puglia region of Italy, experience an area full of southern Italian soul - truly! Glittering, rocky grottos and beautiful sunbleached beaches are weathered and worn by the uniquely blue Adriatic sea. You’ll explore and learn to be the alchemist of your own personal journey in this magical region by connecting through the teachings of the Iyengar Way yoga. Robin will guide and assist you in a Restorative Asana practice daily, designed for the novice as well as the seasoned yogi and all those in-between. This practice will create space in the body through various poses and the yogic art of breathing will allow you to relax more fully into each pose on the mat and be more present off the mat. Robin will hold space and guide you through a yoga Nidra meditation where you will learn to release tension and experience even deeper relaxation. Creative writing techniques will allow awakening moments that express the alchemical process that is transpiring during this week’s transformation which will be bolstered with cultural activities and excursions planned resulting in achieving subtle alchemy.

As we shift into the second week of the retreat, our body, mind and spirit has been refreshed, invigorated and transformed and we are now ready to be infused by the charming, rustic flare of a more authentic southern Italy. We will be personally guided through some of southern Italy’s best kept secrets. Amore! Boutique accommodations include a private, authentic Italian chef dinners with several authentic Italian meals. We will also be exploring the dramatic, breathtaking Amalfi coastline. (A good thing we have learned and practiced pranayama the prior week) Let’s step back in time and discover some historical sites, immerse ourselves in local culture … and shopping, of course!

Alchemy of the Mind, Body and Spirit Retreat – Week 1 Restorative Yoga in Puglia

A full week of contained and amplified yoga practice balanced with excursions and fun experiences, ending the week with one night in the quaint town of Polignano a Mare. While in Polignano a Mare, we can visit the famous cave restaurant Grotto Palazzese, a photo op. Additionally we will  explore the town of Alberobello known for it’s trulli, whitewashed stone huts topped with a decorative pinnacle, the signature of the master trullaro who built it. The following morning we depart Polignano a Mare and begin traveling east through Italy’s southern countryside for a full week of exploring the Amalfi coast.

Alchemy of Mind, Body, Spirit Retreat – Week 2 Amalfi Coast – Indulgence

We will spend a full week of exploring the Amalfi coast, a truly spectacular stretch of coastline and arguably one of Italy’s most scenic areas. We will be enjoying every single moment by immersing in the beauty surrounding the coastal towns. Positano highlights a walk on the Senterio degli dei (Path of the Gods) for the breathtaking views. Be sure to bring your walking shoes. Ravello focuses on the iconic beauty of the Cliffside gardens. Pompei will take us back in time as we marvel at this archaeological showcase and ancient historical site, dating back to approximately 8th century BC. Included in this journey is the famed Isle of Capri, in Italy’s Bay of Naples, known for the magical Blue Grotto where the sea glows electric blue. “Possibly alchemically inspired?”

This concludes our magical trip across southern Italy with a lifetime of memories.
